Transferring photos

Eons ago, DCIM (for Digital Camera IMages) became the default directory structure for digital cameras. Mostly it exists to keep everything organized. When you put a memory card into a camera, the camera immediately looks for a ‘DCIM' folder. If it doesn't find such a folder, it creates one.

Transferring Photos

Left Or Right click your mouse and hold it down & drag the DCIM Folder on the SD card to the USB Drive “Picture” folder (or whatever folder you want to move it to) and release or “drop” it.

  • A Left click drag & drop creates a copy of the file in the target folder.
  • If you used the right Click to drag & drop, you have an option to copy or move the folder or file
