Accommodation

Kasigau Basecamp

  • Infinity Outdoors Tents (2 students sharing per tent)
  • Flush Toilets & Hot showers in dedicated student toilet block
  • Communal Dining Area, with all food cooked and provided by Kasigau Basecamp

Mt Kasigau

  • Students hike with day bags (lunch, water, sunscreen, waterproofs etc)
  • Porters carry extra drinking water

Taita Hills Lodge

  • Students sharing en suite triple rooms
  • Buffet style dining area
  • Pool & WW1 museum on site

Catering and diet

All food will be catered by Kasigau Basecamp & Taita Hills Lodge EXCEPT the overnight camping food which will be purchased from Carrefour in Nairobi

  • There will be no pork and no nut products served.
  • We will cater for all special dietary requirements communicated to us

Medical

Medication:

  • All medication must be made known to your child’s class teacher.
  • The medication should be clearly labeled and prescribed to your child, it should have clear administration details.
  • Medication must be handed over to your child's class teacher for safe storage.

First aid kits will be taken on the trip

Communication

  • Children are not allowed to carry mobile phones or any other electrical gadgets on the trip.
  • Staff will have the ‘trip phone’ which has 24 hour contact with our senior leadership team.
  • Daily updates will be provided from the school through email. This will include:
    • Confirmation of their arrival at ….
    • Afternoon updates with a snapshot of what they have been up to
    • Morning and afternoon daily updates

Health and Safety

Supervision

  • All class teachers, and teaching assistants will be attending the trip.
  • This trip will be run by Infinity Outdoors, who have experience of providing quality outdoor education experiences for the Braeburn group Since 2013
  • All Infinity Outdoors trip leaders and senior staff are internationally trained and qualified
  • Infinity Outdoors staff will be there for the whole duration of the trip.
