Where have you seen the biggest change as a result of personalized learning at your school and/or district?

Student engagement has skyrocketed! We have also seen significant improvement in the level of engagement in our gifted students.

- School Leader

People are more collaborative because learning something new creates levels of vulnerability in everyone. This allows teachers to be more open to support each other.

- School Leader

[Students] are able to choose exactly what they need to be successful and monitor their progress in a clear and meaningful way.

- Teacher

Students are much more engaged in their learning when they have more choice and appear much more invested in their own progress when they are working at their ideal level and pace.

- Teacher

My teachers have become much more collaborative since we started PL. They support one another with their ideas and suggestions.

- School Leader

Teachers are more aware of individual students ' needs and this has changed how they assess students ' progress . Teachers ' classroom setups look completely different than before we were a PL school.

- School Leader

I have seen a change in the excitement about learning.

- School Leader

Reaching all learners at their level, both students that need the extra support and students that need enrichment.

Responsive Organization

Connecting Leadership Practices to PL

What is personalized learning?

Personalized Learning is dynamically tailoring learning experiences to students’ strengths, needs and/or interests.

Why personalized learning at Loudoun?

Personalized Learning provides multiple pathways for students to access and show mastery of academic content, and prepares them to become critical thinkers, communicators, collaborators, creators, and contributors

How does personalized learning come to life in schools?

Personalized Learning is one of the LCPS Building Blocks for Deeper Learning. There is not a one size fits all model for Personalized Learning. Schools have identified structures and areas of focus based on the needs of the students and teachers. Personalized Learning, PBL and PBA lead to deeper learning by enhancing student agency, providing students opportunities to reflect on their learning, and engaging them in solving authentic, challenging problems.
