Cat Trap

Motivation

Our goal is to design & prototype a better cat trap for both cats & handlers. Specifically, our trap utilizes a notification system to alert the handler when the cat trap has been triggered, indicating something has been caught.

This helps because:

• Easier for the handler/trapper
• Safer & less stressful for the cats
• Decreases the time a cat is left alone in a cage

• Attach completed machine to the trap
• Attach reed sensor to both sides of the trap door
• Receive text message once the door has shut

Test the program & sensors separately from the trap to verify it works

Further in testing we may also collect data about the consistency that messages are being sent after the reed sensor is triggered.
