Mission and Vision

Mission:

Our Mission at East Chapel Hill High School is to ensure that every student graduates on time with the essential knowledge and skills as well as personal and inter-personal well-being to guarantee access to higher education and/or employment in the 21st Century.

Vision:

Our Vision at East Chapel Hill High School is one of results-oriented collaboration among students, families, teachers, staff, administration, and the school community. Unified by our common mission, each stakeholder involved in this collaboration will commit to meeting the individual needs of individual students through a clear understanding of the Standard Course of Study, tightly aligned and differentiated instructional plans, multi-modal and multimedia delivery methods, common and formative assessments, high expectations, transparent interventions, and support structures for all learners.

All stakeholders will value our mission and vision at East Chapel Hill High School, and will therefore commit the necessary effort to meet these goals and expectations for high levels of student achievement and professional educator practice.

Master Metrics

Instructional Excellence:Preparing Students for Life

Reading Goal: Proficiency in English II will meet the ESSA target of 89.5% proficiency (2.03% growth). There is an emphasis on increasing proficiency among the following student populations: Black students to a target of 64.7% (2.62% growth), Hispanic (Latinx) students to a target of 76.0% (2.4% growth), and Students with Disabilities (SWD) to a target of 47.1% (3.23% growth).

Math Goal: Proficiency in Math 1 will meet the ESSA target of 50.2% proficiency (2.98% growth). There is an emphasis on increasing proficiency among the following student populations: Black students to a target of 18.8% (3.56% growth), Hispanic (Latinx) students to a target of 36.6% (3.3% growth), and Students with Disabilities (SWD) to a target of 17.5% (4.0% growth)

Multi-Language Learner Acquisition Goal: ML students will meet the Progress Indicator Goal of 44.1% as measured by ACCESS assessments. This represents a Yearly Measures of Interim Progress by 3.47% each year.

Creating a Culture of Safety & Wellness

Discipline: Reduce discipline disproportionate index rate for Black Male students from 4.39% to 4.22%, for Black Female students from 3.03% to 2.91%, for Students With Disabilities from 3.10% to 2.98%, and for Multi-Language Learners from 3.32% to 1.72%

ECHHS will host at minimum four family and community engagement events per year.

Empowering, Equipping and Investing in Our People

ECHHS will provide opportunities for differentiated professional learning, ensure duty free planning and lunch,

Math Goal: Proficiency in Math 1 will meet the ESSA target of 53.1% proficiency (2.98% growth). There is an emphasis on increasing proficiency among the following student populations: Black students to a target of 22.36% (3.56% growth), Hispanic (Latinx) students to a target of 39.9% (3.3% growth), and Students with Disabilities (SWD) to a target of 21.5% (4.0% growth)

School Culture: ECHHS will continue to work to ensure each student feels loved, connected and respected by creating an atmosphere of community and opportunities that not only encourages, but also value student voice. ECHHS will increase student attendance by reducing our chronic absenteeism by 5% from last school year.
