Why DVA?

Over the course of the 2024-25 school year, numerous students withdraw and enroll citing various factors.

119 students withdrew from DeKalb Central to homeschool or enroll in an online school, 95 from DMS/DHS

Virtual students are funded at 85% of an in-person student.

95 x ADM x .85 = $538,000

The DVA is NOT:

  • A substitute for in-person education as a DHS/DMS Student.
  • Students attending the DVA will not be able to:
    • Participate in athletics (DHS/DMS)
    • Attend IMPACT
    • Attend DHS/DMS functions unless approved as a guest
    • Walk at DHS Graduation – their diplomas will be available for pickup/mailing
