Vision
Saline Rowing Team takes as its VISION the desire to produce successful rowers. Successful Rowers are physically fit, mentally tough, competitive, and positively bonded with their teammates and their fellow competitors.
Mission
The mission of Saline Rowing takes upon itself to offer high school training at the highest level of the sport in order to reach peak FITness, to demonstrate GRIT by being adaptable to weather conditions and overcoming the mental challenges of difficult workouts, to exhibit consistent improvement within COMPETITION and to demonstrate strong team BONDS by respecting and including others who are going through similar challenges.
Goals
FIT = Show improvement in endurance annually on 2K and 6K tests.
Show increased strength each winter by increasing Watts per Kilo score.
GRIT = Be adaptable to weather conditions with a positive attitude.
Be mentally strong enough to handle tough workouts. Stay at a consistent power without stopping.
Be mentally prepared to adapt to new challenges.
Goals
COMPETITIVE = Show improvement on the water in 3 minute miles and Around the Island time. Also show a decrease in time at spring regattas of 1500 meters.
BONDED = Show shared appreciation for the work that all rowers do, both on and off the water.
Show a shared sense of responsibility for preparing for practice and preparing for regattas.
Show that everyone is included by not having separate clicks nor individuals singled out.
Bonded with all teammates by feeling supported, encouraged, welcomed and invited.
