Team 1: Work-Life Separation

  • Promote mindfulness techniques
  • Offer suggestions to move toward separation (deleting email, setting boundaries, working during contract hours)

“LEARN TO SAY NO. This might be to extra calls or adding an additional patient. TAKE TIME OFF. Don’t just plan those days and then forgo them. CONSIDER REDUCING WORK HOURS. REACH OUT FOR EXTRA SUPPORT. This may be through career guidance, supervision/mentorship, or administrative support and scribes when/as needed” (Iyer, A., 2022).

Team 2: Employee Recognition

  • Allow employees to pick specific tasks (events to plan, curriculum to discover, projects to implement) to take charge of to make a difference
  • Recognize employees inside of school and outside of school accomplishments via newsletter, announcement shout outs, and verbal praises

“Morale refers to the degree to which members of a group can continue to believe in the organization or purpose of the group, especially in the face of adversity or criticism. People with high levels of morale are happier and feel that they are contributing to the organization’s goals, while those with low levels of morale are unhappy and often lack interest. High morale usually leads to increased output in the workplace and lower turnover; thus, morale is of interest to workers, business owners, and management” (Campbell, J., 2020)

Team 3: Whole Person Approach, Work with Stressors, Incorporate Health

  • Implement new health and wellness strategies as they see fit at school
  • Examples may include… Exercise classes, fitness tips, nutritional practices, etc.

“Workplace yoga found to be a useful, cost-effective and feasible intervention in improving stress, musculoskeletal pain, fatigues and quality of life among employees of the diamond industry. Yoga may be implemented in the workplace as a wellness program at the workplace” (Biman, S., Maharana, S., Metri, K. G., & Nagaratna, R., 2021)
