WHAT IS TITLE I?

  • To be eligible for a Schoolwide Program, the campus must have a low-income percentage of at least 40%

  • A Schoolwide Program allows a school to use funds from Title I, Part A and other federal programs to upgrade the entire education program in a Title I school to improve the achievement of the lowest achieving students.

defined by the school’s plan

      • To support advanced learning opportunities for

struggling students

FUNDING

A district with a Title I, Part A allocation of more than $500,000 is required to spend at least one (1) percent of its allocation for district and school-level parental involvement activities.

You, as parents, have the right to help decide on how the money is spent. You can do this by participating in our Campus Improvement Committee or CIC.

RIGHTS AS A PARENT

  • Right to know the qualifications of the teacher

  • Right to know if teacher meets state qualifications and licensing criteria for the grades and subject he or she teaches

  • Parents are part of the decision-making and are on advisory committees to assist in the education of their child
  • Parents must work with teachers to assist in their child’s learning
