TEACHER GUIDE
Teacher Directions
Prepare the deck before class, then use each activity slide as a clear transition cue.
1
Edit before presenting
Duplicate, delete, and reorder activity slides to match the day. Keep unused options after Dismissal or in a separate copy.
2
Preview the day
During Morning Meeting, review the planned sequence and name any known changes.
3
Display the current activity
Leave the active slide visible. Advance shortly before the class moves to the next location. Between each activity, direct the students to the slide deck.
4
Create consistent, predictable transitions
Consider using a timer, specific message, or sound effect to alert students to an upcoming transition. Say, “Check the schedule. Next is Math.” Pair the words with the picture and allow processing time.
5
Show changes clearly
Move the revised slide into place and explain what changed. Prepare students for transitions when possible.
6
Build independence
Point to the slide before repeating directions. Reduce prompts as students learn the routine.
ACCESS NOTE
Use each student’s communication, sensory, motor, and vision supports. Follow the IEP team’s prompting plan.
