What is Restorative Justice?
Sometimes, when I am playing, I knock down or break someone else’s work.
I want to just say sorry and go do something else, but sometimes sorry is not enough.
So I spend some of my play time helping them rebuild or fix their work.
This can help them to feel better about playing with me later. This is called restorative justice.
Restorative Justice also means knowing how important it is to get to know my friends and teachers in the community, so they can help me and I can help them.
We can talk about things that are hard and things that are fun. It helps if only one person talks at a time. Restorative Justice means we use our words to talk things through.
Think about a time someone helped you to solve a problem or to feel better. How did it make you feel when they helped you?
