How Do I Apply?

SEBT benefit applications can be completed online or you can contact DCBS at 855-306-8959 with questions.

The online Application will be available at https://KYSEBT.ky.gov/ or can be accessed through https://kynect.ky.gov/benefits/ starting June 22nd, 2024.

Benefits Transfer (SEBT)

 

What is SEBT?

SEBT is intended to reduce hunger and food insecurity for students who lose access to free and reduced-price meals through the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and School Breakfast Program (SBP), during the summer when school is not in session.

Students may be eligible for summer nutrition assistance!

SEBT Covers Summer Months

Who is Eligible?

The following school aged students (aged 6-17 as of August 1st, 2023) are automatically approved for SEBT benefits and do not need to apply:

  • Students that have received SNAP, KTAP and/or Kinship Care for at least one (1) month since July 1st, 2023.

Students that do not fall into the above category but are within the income eligibility limits, can apply for SEBT benefits online.

Benefit Amount!

Households can expect to receive a one-time lump sum issuance of $120 ($40 per summer month) per eligible student, if approved.
