Reminders for revision

  • Plan your revision such that you are able to cover all the topics before BT – daily planner provided in revision package
  • Do a thorough revision for all topics tested. This includes reading your notes and reviewing all the mistakes from your tutorials/assignments/past qns. You should also try to make summary notes for all your topics
  • Make use of the checklist provided to ensure that you have mastered the skills and concepts listed
  • Time yourself when doing even the topical questions. Write out solutions like those for the examinations
  • Make arrangement to clarify your doubts with your tutors
  • You should complete at least 3 timed practice (full papers) before the Block Test exams

Exam strategies

  • Look through the entire paper at the start when allowed to (~1 min)
  • Start with the question you have the most confidence in
  • Allocate about 1.5 min per mark (10 mark question should take at most 15 min)
  • Read your questions carefully. The information are all within the question to solve the problem.
  • After solving, make it a habit to check your work if possible
  • Do not get stuck at a question for too long. Skip if needed and come back to it at a later part of the exam
  • Try to attempt all parts if possible.
  • At the end of the paper, check your answers/workings again
