Research Updates

K-wallet

  1. We interviewed 12 people who never used crypto before and never opened a wallet;
  2. We learned tons of information and extracted our notes and put them into individual empathy maps;
  3. 10 of the interviews were recorded but we need additional Dropbox space before we can upload them all.
  4. We will synthesize the data into a usable affinity map and report our findings on Wednesday.
  5. We began developing our research plan for the Metamask usability test.

What We Learned (INSIGHTS)

  1. SENDER input fields were not intuitive and accessible for users
  2. There were inconsistencies and disconnections with the ASSET, AMOUNT & CONVERSION elements; users identify immediately the relationship with each element, causing potential confusion

What We Created (SOLUTIONS)

  • We made the SENDER fields easier to interact with a larger cursor target area
  • We improved the design of ASSET field combining the field with the TOKEN funds and logo; as well as adding field titles
  • We iterated the AMOUNT field to show users pertinent information about TOKEN funds and CONVERSION

DESIGN ITERATIONS

‘Send To’ Screen

BEFORE

AFTER

1

What We Learned (INSIGHTS)

  • The users would like to send between their accounts more often so that option should be displayed
  • There was no clue that indicates that the users can open the dropdown when clicking on a “send between my accounts” section

What We Created (SOLUTIONS)

  • We defaulted to showing the users account and giving them the option to preview recent once.
  • The arrows were added to communicate that users can click the “recent” section to reveal information.

What We Learned (INSIGHTS)

  • The send “from” and “to” fields weren’t consistent with the design system because they weren’t labeled
  • Users won’t be able to adjust any settings when the Public Gas Station is paying the gas so having the “advanced settings” feature displayed is not useful and lead to confusion.
  • The “edit” button didn’t exist. Users could only use the arrow in the top left corner to go back

2

What We Created (SOLUTIONS)

  • Labels were added to keep the design consistent and indicate what each field means to the users
  • The “Advanced setting” feature is disabled when Public Gas Station in paying for gas and will be enabled when users chose other options
  • “Edit” button was added to facilitate the process of editing the information.

NFT Research

Kadet NFT Opportunities

  • Show internal transactions & smart contracts in Kadet Activity/ History: “Often, the process of selling an NFT is performed through a smart contract (a blockchain program), and as a result, the funds you receive are delivered to you through an internal transaction, which do not show up in your MetaMask activity.”
  • verification of NFT transfers right in the wallet (no need for block explorer)

  • Cheap Gas Station fees
