Standing Ovations - Comments

My children ride the bus from Mira Monte school and on Thursday, April 29th,our bus driver activated her stop signs and flashing lights. As my children were walking in front of the bus to cross the street, a small blue sports car going well over the speed limit, if not doubled- was quickly drifting his vehicle toward the school bus while ignoring the stop sign and lights. The bus driver was holding down her horn before this person had even turned the corner onto our street. Due to her professional instinct and observation skills, she quickly anticipated his speed, his direction and I genuinely do not think he would have stopped if she hadn’t have done what she did. After hearing her horn, the driver slammed on his brakes about 8 feet in front of my 6 & 7 year old children. We are so thankful for her quick thinking and judgement that words simply cannot express it. Please accept this as a letter of sincere and genuine commendation. This situation could have been much worse and we are so thankful for her.”
