A BIT OF BACKGROUND

  • CTC Program Standards require that a mentor teacher complete 10 hours of preparation for their role.
  • A Task Force of CCTE established an on-line course that covers the topics noted in the standard “Coaching Adult Learners, Content-Specific Pedagogy and Instructional Practices) in 8 hours.
  • The task force is now a committee of CCTE “PD4MT”. The committee meets three times a year.

ABOUT THE COURSE

  • Institutions and programs can add their own 2 hours to the course or continue to use their current method.
  • $100.00 for an academic year. There is no limit to the number of students (Mentor Teachers) you can enroll.
  • A liaison from the program is identified as the point of contact for the course and is enrolled as the Instructor of the course, but other Instructors can be added.
  • Students (Mentor Teachers) who complete the course receive a Course Completion Badge and Certificate of Completion to be shared with the program for record keeping.
  • Once a Mentor Teacher has completed the course, a program may accept this as the requirement being completed.
