How to be a Safe Cyclist

  1. Always wear your helmet! It’s the law.
  2. Ride in a marked bicycle lane where possible.
  3. If you are riding on the street, travel in the same direction as traffic. Obey the same traffic signs and signals and vehicles on the road. For example, if you see a stop sign, you must bring your bicycle to a complete stop, and proceed when it is safe.
  4. When crossing the road, be sure to dismount

off of your bike.
