Here’s what we are working on!
Letterland
Unit 13: This week we will focus on “r” controlled vowels. We call them robbing robots. These to robots are called Irving Ir and Urgent Ur. Our focus will be “-ir” and “-ur”

When practicing letterland with your child, please focus on practicing the skill, not memorizing the words.
Reading
The students will use evidence from nonfiction texts to ask/answer questions about fossils. They will also use pictures and words to learn about/describe the process of fossilization.
Math
We will work on strategies to skip count by fives, tens and hundreds. We will learn how to use place value models and number lines to represent skip counting.
Social Studies
Thinking like a historian: The students will primary and secondary resources to learn about historical people and events.
