Purpose

SOP-4: Teaching Standards – Professional Conduct is to define the behavioral and professional expectations required of teachers during all ENOZ class sessions. This SOP ensures that teachers consistently demonstrate professionalism, discipline, and respect in the virtual classroom. Specifically, it aims to:

    • Promote professionalism by requiring teachers to maintain proper posture, facial expressions, and engagement throughout the session.
    • Ensure visibility and accountability by mandating camera use and active presence during all classes.
    • Safeguard communication quality through clear speech, controlled audio settings, and elimination of background noise.
    • Prevent distractions by prohibiting multitasking, unnecessary movements, or behaviors that disrupt the learning environment.
    • Reinforce credibility and trust by guiding teachers to model discipline, attentiveness, and respect in every interaction.

1. Presence and Engagement

    • Posture: Sit upright with proper posture to project confidence and professionalism.

    • Facial Expression: Maintain a pleasant, professional smile throughout the session to foster a welcoming atmosphere.

    • Camera Use: Keep the camera ON at all times to ensure visibility, accountability, and engagement.

    • Focus: Stay attentive and treat the virtual class with the same seriousness and respect as a physical classroom.

2. Audio & Communication

    • Microphone Settings: Do not activate microphone boosters or unnecessary audio enhancements that may distort sound quality.

    • Clarity: Speak clearly, at a moderate pace, and maintain a professional tone.

    • Noise Control: Eliminate background noise by muting the microphone when not speaking.

    • Professional Interaction: Use courteous language and maintain respectful communication at all times.

3. Professional Discipline

    • Single-Tasking: Do not multitask during class (e.g., writing evaluations, fixing items, checking documents).

    • Minimize Distractions: Avoid unnecessary movements, gestures, or behaviors that may disrupt the learning environment.

    • Consistency: Uphold professional conduct throughout the session to reinforce credibility and student trust.
