What is the Jesuit Pupil Profile?
The profile is based around the teachings of Jesus Christ and
an important saint called St Ignatius Loyola, who lived a long
time ago.
It helps us to think about the kind of people we want to grow
up to be and helps us understand the ways we should live.
These fit in with our school mission statement, in that
We Live, We Love, We Learn, We Grow in Jesus.
By thinking about these virtues we can grow closer to God in
our thoughts, our words and our actions- the things we ‘do’.
What are the virtues?
The virtues are our core values and qualities that we all want to have so that we can work for God.
What virtues have we already focussed on at school?
Let’s find out about the new virtue pairs that we will focus on this half term…
What do these words mean for us as learners at OLSM?
Eloquent- this means speaking clearly to others about what we believe, using kind, thoughtful words, expressing our views and opinions in a nice way, asking important questions, talking about what we believe.
Truthful- this means speaking the truth to others, to talk about God and our belief in him in a truthful way, to look for the truth of Jesus in everything we do, to talk about the world in an honest way.

How does this link to the Jesuit Pupil Profile?
Pupils in OLSM school are growing to be eloquent by talking about their emotions, beliefs and asking questions and truthful in the way they represent themselves and speak about others and the world around them.
A reading from the Gospel of John
I am the way, the truth and the life
John 14:5-6
Thomas said to him “ Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?”
Jesus replied “ I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”
Over to you…
My virtues pledge
I promise to be eloquent by talking about my work with my teachers.
