Create some simple flashcards so that you can learn the terms! (Note cards/paper, Quizlet or other..)

  • Entrepreneur - A person who organizes, manages, and assumes the risks of a business in order to make money.
  • Employee - A person employed for wages or salary.
  • Entrepreneurship - The process of creating a new business and bearing any of the risk with the view of making a profit.
  • Business - The activity of making, selling or supplying goods or services for money.
  • Total Cost (Expense) - The economic costs that a business incurs through its operation to earn revenue. In order to maximize profits, businesses must attempt to reduce expenses without also cutting into revenues.
  • Total Revenue - Revenue is the amount of money that is brought into a company by business activities. Revenue is calculated by multiplying the price at which goods or services are sold by the number of units sold.
  • Profit - Profit is the money a business makes after accounting for all the expenses. Regardless of whether the business is a couple of kids running a lemonade stand or a large company, consistently earning profit is every company’s goal.
