How long were the first movies compared today?
In today’s movie theater, movies can range from one hour to two hours and sometimes longer. One of the first films dates back to 1891 and was about 2.11 second long. The movie industry changed when silent films turned into talkies. Because of special effects and technology, the length of movies have changed too.

The first silent film was in 1891 , however in 1931 silent films were still going strong with City Lights. In 1927 they released the first talkie film, which was The Jazz Singer. In 1935 the American Eastman Kodak Company introduced the color film and called it a kodachrome, with the filming of the Wizard of Oz.

Sci-fi films are complete with heroes, distant planets, impossible quests, weird settings, fantastic places, great dark and shadowy villains, futuristic technology and gizmos, and unknown and inexplicable forces. Many other SF films feature time travels or fantastic journeys, and are set either on Earth, into outer space, or (most often) into the future time. Some famous sci fi movies are Despicable Me, The Avengers, Captain America( the winter soldier ) and, Guardians of the galaxy.

On Friday’s people like to enjoy the rest of their day by going to the movies. Going to see a brand new movie is a go to for many people. You can go to the movie theaters on a Tuesday, Thursday or any day of the week, but guaranteed it won’t be as crowded.
't be as full as on a Friday through Sunday. Many people are willing to spend their money in different ways, but many will spend more of their money on a Friday since it’s the end of the week and the beginning of a weekend.
How much money does the movie industry make?
The movie industry made about 38 billion U.S. dollars in 2016. In 2020 it made nearly 50 billion. The U.S. is the third largest film industry behind China and India.
