Relationship of Mutual Fulfillment

Mutual Fulfillment = Relatedness + Fulfillment

Four orders in nature, mutual fulfillment in nature

    • In nature all the three orders other than human order are mutually fulfilling for themselves as well as for human beings
    • Mutual fulfillment is naturally acceptable to the human order
    • Due to lack of right understanding, the Human order is not yet able to ensure mutual fulfillment. This can be seen in the form of problems such as pollution, resource depletion, extinction of animals, global warming and threats to human race on earth

Things

  • Material Order: Most abundant in nature- Soil, metals and compounds, gases, water and other liquids, etc
  • Plant/Bio/Pranic Order: Exists as the smallest seeds to the plentiful grass, the various plants and trees and all the vegetation in the ocean
  • Humans and Animals are coexistence of the Self(‘I’) and Body
  • In body the fundamental unit is cell
  • Cell belongs to pranic order
  • Thus both the body of both animals and humans is essentially made upof cells and this belong to pranic order
  • Animal Order: Various kinds of animals and birds.
  • These entities display both a body (physico-chemical activity) as well as conscious activity (‘I’)
  • Coexistence of animal body and Self (‘I’)
  • Human Order: All human beings
  • Each human being is co-existence of the Self (‘I’) and the Body

Mr. Suthagar S / Assistant Professor/ Kongu Engineering College

13 of 42

Activity

  • An activity –has motion and/or has a result
  • All units around us, including ourselves, are active, all the time.
  • They are interacting with the environment
  • There is a state or configuration and motion simultaneously. This remains all the time
  • Activity in the material order: Composition –Decomposition- chair-wood
  • Activity in the Plant/Bio order: Made upof material order +respiration
  • Activity in the Animal order:
  • Body in animals- Physico-chemical activities:
  • ‘I’ in animals- conscious activities- Assumption
  • Activity in the human order: Co-existence of physio –chemical body and a conscious self or ‘I’

Mr. Suthagar S / Assistant Professor/ Kongu Engineering College

Innateness

  • Material Order: Cannot destroy matter, can only convert it from one form to the other
  • Plant/Bio/Pranic Order: existence &growth
  • Animal Order: existence &growth in the body and a will to live in ‘I’
  • Human Order: existence &growth in the body and a will to live with happiness in ‘I’

  • We don’t desire to not be happy, even for an instant
  • We need to have right understanding, which is the knowledge or understanding of the harmony at all 4 levels of our being
  • Try to ensure this through self-exploration, i.e by establishing a dialogue between, ‘what we are’ and ‘what we really want to be’ which is essentially the verification on the basis of our natural acceptance

Mr. Suthagar S / Assistant Professor/ Kongu Engineering College

15 of 42

Natural Characteristics

  • Value or Participation
  • Material Order: composition/Decomposition
  • Plant/Bio/Pranic Order: composition/ Decomposition Nurture/Worsen
  • Animal Order: Self –non-cruelty and cruelty
  • Cruelty-The feeling that it can fulfill its needs through violence and forcefulness

Mr. Suthagar S / Assistant Professor/ Kongu Engineering College

16 of 42

  • Human Order:
  • Perseverance – Being assured that all encompassing solution is to understand and live in harmony at all levels of existence, living with this commitment without any perturbation
  • Bravery – Being assured that the all-encompassing solution is to understand and live in harmony at all levels and I am ready to help other to have right understanding
  • Generosity- Being assured that the all-encompassing solution is to understand and live in harmony at all four levels and I am ready to invest myself, my body and wealth to help the other have the right understanding

  • Do I want to live as in the left side column, or in the right column? What is naturally acceptable to me?
  • Am I living more like in the left side column, or as in the right side column?

  • Observations
  • What is written for ‘I’ on the right side makes the basic needs for us as human beings. Without these, there is no definiteness in our conduct; without this, we don’t have satisfaction, we don’t have a continuity of happiness
  • We can’t do away with our need for continuous happiness, because it is out innateness, it is intrinsic to us, it is our Dharana –it is inseparable from us
  • We can’t live with cruelty or just avoiding to be cruel and still be happy because this is not out natural characteristics, it is not our natural acceptance, it is not naturally acceptable to us

Mr. Suthagar S / Assistant Professor/ Kongu Engineering College

20 of 42

  • Our basic need is not just physical facilities, but relationship and right understanding/knowledge as well
  • To live in the left is called living in animal consciousness and to live as in the right is called living in human consciousness
  • Unless we exercise our need and capacity to know, we shall continue to create problems for ourselves and the rest of the orders in nature, since we have far greater facilities and the ability to have a large impact on our environment
  • This is the difference between “what we are” and “ what we really want to be”

Harmony in Existence – Understanding Existence as

Co-existence

Mr. Suthagar S / Assistant Professor/ Kongu Engineering College

22 of 42

An Introduction to Space

  • Natural acceptance – key mechanism for us to explore the harmony of Self and the harmony with the Body
  • Units-Something that is limited in size
  • Countable

  • What is between you and the book you are reading right now?
  • What is between the earth and the sun?

  • Space exists everywhere
  • Space does not just exist between the earth and the sun, but is all around you,

Mr. Suthagar S / Assistant Professor/ Kongu Engineering College

23 of 42

Co-existence of Units in Space

  • Units in Space:
  • Existence is whatever exists.
  • There are two types of basic realities in existence – one is space and the other is units. The units are in space.
  • Understanding Units and Space
  • There are innumerable units in existence. There is air, water, soil, earth, sun, moon, plants, trees, animals, birds, human beings etc. These units are in space. The co-existence of the two is in the form of units submerged in space.
  • Existence = Space +units (in Space)
  • Existence = Nature submerged in space
  • Nature= Four orders
  • All nature is submerged in space. Space is not a unit but it exists, as a reality

Mr. Suthagar S / Assistant Professor/ Kongu Engineering College

24 of 42

Mr. Suthagar S / Assistant Professor/ Kongu Engineering College

25 of 42

  • Limited and Unlimited:
  • Units are Limited in Size; Space is Unlimited
  • We can observe units all around – they are limited in size. Coming to space, it is unlimited.
  • It is spread all around. It is all-pervading.
  • There is no limited size of space.
  • It does not have any boundary.
  • Units are Activity, they are Active; Space is “No-Activity”
  • Every unit is an activity and it is active with other units.
  • In itself, one or the other kind of activity is always taking place in the unit.
  • Further, the unit is interacting with other units, i.e. it is active in relation to other units.
  • Space on the other hand has no activity - Only units are active
  • The particles of gases and dust in between are active, but space is no-activity

Mr. Suthagar S / Assistant Professor/ Kongu Engineering College

26 of 42

Energized and Energy in Equilibrium

  • Transfer of Energy
  • Units are Energised in Space
  • Being in co-existence with space, every unit is energised, right from the smallest atom to the largest planet.
  • Unit has activity
  • Anything that has activity, is energized
  • Space –not a unit, it has no activity
  • Space is energy in equilibrium or it is constant energy
  • All units are energized in Space
  • This energy is available to all units
  • Space is equilibrium energy; all units are in space; all units are energized and active being in space

Mr. Suthagar S / Assistant Professor/ Kongu Engineering College

27 of 42

Each Unit Recognizes… Space is Reflecting & Transparent

  • Units Recognise their Relationship and Fulfil it with Every Other Unit in Space
  • Being in co-existence with space, every unit recognises its relationship with every other unit in space and fulfils that relationship. - Living in harmony with all the four orders
  • Space is not a unit. Space is reflecting. Every unit is reflected in the other units in space
  • All units are related to each other being in space
  • Space is transparent - In space there is no obstruction
  • All these objects or units are able to recognize each other in space, are related to each other being in space, since space is transparent

Mr. Suthagar S / Assistant Professor/ Kongu Engineering College

28 of 42

Self-organized and Self –organization is Available

  • Units are Self-organised in Space
  • Being in co-existence with space, every unit is self-organised. It is in a definite order. By being in a definite order, it exhibits a definite conduct – that is how one can identify or recognise and study that unit.
  • From the four orders all the units are self-organized
  • No one is organizing them from outside
  • No one is supplying this organization
  • This self-organization is available to units being in space
  • Space- Self-organization is available

Mr. Suthagar S / Assistant Professor/ Kongu Engineering College

29 of 42

Existence is Co-existence

Mr. Suthagar S / Assistant Professor/ Kongu Engineering College

30 of 42

Existence is Co-existence

  • which is in the form of units submerged in space. Units are energised, they are self-organised and they recognise their relationship with other units and participate with them in a mutually fulfilling manner (except for human beings without right understanding).
  • Units are limited in size; they are activity and are active. Space is unlimited, all-pervading and is no activity..

  • Material and Conscious units
  • Units
      • Material
      • Conscious

Mr. Suthagar S / Assistant Professor/ Kongu Engineering College

31 of 42

      • Material Units - Recognizing and fulfilling
          • No assuming in them
          • No potential in them to know or assume
          • As temporary in nature they undergo structural charges
          • Material units recognise and fulfil their relationship with other units– their conduct is definite
          • At the level of the body there is only recognizing and fulfilment
          • At the level of ‘I’, there is assuming and knowing, in addition to recognizing and fulfilment

Mr. Suthagar S / Assistant Professor/ Kongu Engineering College

32 of 42

  • Conscious units:
  • Consciousness units recognise and fulfil their relationship on the basis of assuming without knowing or assuming based on knowing – the conduct of the human being is definite if it is operating on the basis of assuming based on knowing; and it is indefinite if it is operating on the basis of assuming without knowing.
  • We have the capacity to know and we explored this via our natural acceptance
  • Knowing –right understanding –understanding the harmony at all four levels of our being
  • Continuous, there is no structural change in them
  • There can only be qualitative change in them

Mr. Suthagar S / Assistant Professor/ Kongu Engineering College

33 of 42

  • All material units are composed of other (simpler) material units. The smallest or fundamental stable material unit is the atom.
  • An atom may combine with another atom to form a molecule.
  • These molecules further combine to form molecular structure. Molecular structures can exist either as lumps, or fluids.
  • Fluids provide nurturing of cells and such cells combine to form plants, the animal body and the human body.
  • Coming to the domain of consciousness, there is just one type of unit which we have referred to as the Self. We can classify all the units in existence into four orders.
  • Material units can be classified into two orders – physical order and bio order.
  • The animal order is the co-existence of consciousness (Self) and the animal body (material). The human order is also the co-existence of consciousness (Self) and the human body (material).
  • Animal or Animal Order =‘I’ + Animal Body
  • Human or Human Order =‘I’ + Human Body

Mr. Suthagar S / Assistant Professor/ Kongu Engineering College

34 of 42

What is my role in existence?

  • What have I done for any of these to exist?
  • What have I done for space to exist?
  • What have I done for material and conscious units to exist?
  • What have I done for atoms, molecules, lumps, fluids and plants to exist?
  • What have I done for animals and humans to exist?
  • What have I done for the existence of my own body? My teeth, hands, eyes, feet, etc?
  • What I have done for my own existence?
  • Have I created any of this at all?
  • Am I controlling or directing any of this at all?
  • Am I the one directing the formation of molecules, the growth of plants or the beating of my own heart?
  • We are not doing any of these. We are not creating any of these!
  • What is my role in this existence then, If I have not created, or am not controlling any of these?
  • Learn to live with all this

Mr. Suthagar S / Assistant Professor/ Kongu Engineering College

35 of 42

  • Existence is Co-existence. Co-existence is in the form of:
  • Every unit is submerged in space. (Harmony in Existence)
  • Every unit is related and mutually

fulfilling to every other unit (Harmony in Nature)

  • Human being is related and wants to be

mutually fulfilling to every other unit (Harmony in Society)

  • ‘I’ is related and wants to be mutually

fulfilling to every ’I’ (Harmony in family)

  • ‘I’ is related and wants to be mutually

fulfilling to Body (Harmony with Body)

  • Different activities in ‘I’ are also

interrelated and active to be in harmony (Harmony in ‘I’)

(Realisation and understanding ensure harmony in desires, thoughts, expectations)

Mr. Suthagar S / Assistant Professor/ Kongu Engineering College

36 of 42

  • Understanding the self(‘I’), the activities in ‘I’ and their interrelation, understanding the reality of ‘I’ as being distinct from the body is called the knowledge of Self (‘I’)
  • knowledge of Self (‘I’) - Jivana
  • knowledge of Existence- Understanding the harmony at all the levels
  • knowledge of human conduct –Understand the relationship with every unit of existence and fulfil it, leading to mutual happiness and prosperity
  • The knowledge of these three put together – right understanding – Realization and understanding –activity completeness
  • When there is completeness in the ability of ‘I’ to live with right understanding at all four levels, leading to mutual fulfillment- Conduct completeness

Mr. Suthagar S / Assistant Professor/ Kongu Engineering College

37 of 42

  • Each material and conscious unit is submerged in space and being in space , each unit is energized, self-organized and recognizes and fulfills its relationships with other entities.
  • This is the entirety of existence and its harmonious
  • Existence is the form of Co-existence
  • It is in Harmony
  • We don’t have to create harmony, it already exits
  • We only have to understand to be in it
  • This means that having the knowledge of existence and knowledge is self (‘I’) gives me the knowledge of humane conduct.
  • With this knowledge, I can live with humane conduct

Mr. Suthagar S / Assistant Professor/ Kongu Engineering College

38 of 42

What are we doing Today?

We are accumulating things here and calling it growth. This will never grow, because ‘growth is not the natural characteristics of the material order

All the focus is here

We are not allowing plants to grow- we are destroying forests, but we cannot stop this, since the natural characteristics of plant or pranic order is to grow..

Trying to exploit this

We are hardly paying any attention to I.

We are hardly looking at the needs of I; the need of knowledge and the need for relationship. All our focus is simply skill based, which is basically to accumulate physical facilities

ignoring this

Mr. Suthagar S / Assistant Professor/ Kongu Engineering College

39 of 42

  • We are ignoring the needs of the Self(‘I’) and mainly focusing on the physical facilities –material order
  • Accumulation in the material order cannot be a substitute for the needs of knowledge/understanding and the relationship in ‘I’. Work on the material order needs to be done in the light understanding of ‘I’ and the needs of ‘I’
  • Developing where it cycles back, not developing where it does not
  • If you had development, would you want it to be reversible or irreversible? Whatever you gained out of development, would you want it to stay, or go away/back to where you started from?
  • We want development to be irreversible, to stay with us, to be permanent - Cyclic

Mr. Suthagar S / Assistant Professor/ Kongu Engineering College

40 of 42

This is cyclic by nature. No matter what we do with the material and plant order, it will transform, will go back. So we cannot develop here. We shall keep losing this development since it is cyclic. We can put the things here to use- but this is not development

There is qualitative change in ‘I’. This is permanent. This is development. If we want development, this is where we need to be working- for right understanding (knowledge and right living)

Mr. Suthagar S / Assistant Professor/ Kongu Engineering College

41 of 42

Material things have a role to play in our lives: interms of needs of the body: maintaining harmony with the body and for various requirements in society –like transport, communication, etc. We can work here and the production can be within the natural framework of recycling

For composition/ construction focus here

We understand the role and need for the plant/pranic order and interact with it accordingly – we work to enrich nature, and there is enough in nature for all of us...

For growth focus here

Ensuring right understanding and right living in I ensures that our interaction with all the 4 orders is in harmony and we are in harmony in ourselves. We also find resolution to our various questions about ourselves and everthing around us.

For development, focus here
