BRIEF

We have conducted a deep audit of the AMS website, which examines both on-page and off-page SEO factors to identify areas for improvement.

We listed both major and minor errors related to SEO and included solutions to address the identified issues, which we can discuss soon.

Furthermore, performing keyword research and analyzing competitors helps optimize strategies, boosting online visibility and increasing organic traffic.

DEEP AND WEBSITE AUDIT SMALL ADJUSTMENTS

Performing a deep website audit involves examining technical aspects, content quality, and user experience. Small adjustments based on these findings can significantly enhance site performance.

This includes:

    • Checking Page Speed and Performance
    • Checking On-page SEO
    • Checking Title and Description
    • Checking Image Alt Text
    • Checking H Tag Structure
    • Minor Adjustment 404 Monitors and Redirect
    • Check and Adjust Page Indexing (no guarantee, final decision still lies on Google)

Solution

Google PageSpeed Insight

Based on Google PageSpeed Insight, our Best practices and SEO are performing well. However, the overall performance is subpar, and we can enhance accessibility too.

Desktop Analysis

    • Performance
      • Reduce animation usage.
      • Remove unused JS and CSS to reduce the overall page size.
    • Accessibility
      • Remove the user-scalable="no" parameter from the content attribute of the <meta name="viewport"> element to enable the zoom function
      • Ensure the maximum scale parameter is not less than 2.

Google PageSpeed Insight

Mobile Analysis

Based on Google PageSpeed Insight, we found that there are some improvements that we can address to increase overall website performance.

    • Performance
      • Reduce layout shifts caused by button and image animation to prevent large layout shift issues.
      • Address high main-thread work (11.1 s, ideally 4 s) by evaluating overall script efficiency, optimizing third-party JavaScript, and avoiding long-running input handlers.
      • Revamp the script for high render delay.
    • Accessibility
      • Similar issues as on the desktop.
    • SEO
      • Increase the size of the recipe button from 35x15 px to ideally 48x48 px.

Meta Title and Description

The page <title> and meta description should be within the <head> element, or search engines may ignore it.

ISSUE

    • Ensure page <title> element and meta descriptions are within the <head> element of a page's HTML. This allows search engines to use them for their search engine result page snippets.

SOLUTION:

Add Title and Meta Description

Google will often still recognize the page title even outside of the <head> element, however this should not be relied upon.

AMP: Missing Non-AMP Return Link

AMP URLs should have a regular version that links back to them using rel="amphtml".

ISSUE

    • Ensure canonical and non-AMP versions of URLs include a rel="amphtml" link to the AMP version. This confirms the relationship and makes the AMP version discoverable.

SOLUTION:

Add Non-AMp Return Link

If this link is missing from the regular version, it could be due to a simple oversight or a configuration issue with the AMP canonical.

Canonicals: Outside <head>

Pages with a canonical link element placed outside of the <head> element in the HTML.

ISSUE

    • Ensure canonical link elements are located within the <head> element of a page's HTML to be recognized by search engines.

SOLUTION:

The canonical link element should be within the <head> element; otherwise, search engines will ignore it.

ISSUE

    • For decorative images, use CSS background images or provide a null (empty) alt text (alt="").

ISSUE

The <h1> tag should describe the main title and purpose of the page, as it is considered one of the stronger on-page ranking signals.
