Traditional Homework

3 of 12

Homework used to be assigned nightly and collected daily. Homework has never been taken for a grade. It was simply a practice of skills learned that day. All students in a class received the same homework.

Research:

A great deal of evidence shows little to no correlation between homework and student performance.

Stanford research found that students in high-achieving communities who spend too much time on homework experience more stress, physical health problems, and a lack of balance.

The data shows that homework over this level is not only not beneficial to children's grades or GPA, but there's really a plethora of evidence that it's detrimental to their attitude about school, their grades, their self-confidence, their social skills and their quality of life.
