Before you start Language Testing with LAS Links

Test Administrator Computer

Make sure that you have an account with LAS links and can access it.

Click on www.drcedirect.com and bookmark this page on your browser. Log in.

Go To All Applications ---> Professional Learning --->

To access calibration practice activities (aim for 80%)

Student Testing Computer

Install the DRC testing software on the computer(s) students will be testing on.

Login to the computer using

Username: Testing

Password: Success!

Click on the install software icon.

Double click on the DRC Insight Online Assessment

Press ‘Install’

Use this icon to access the testing software next time you login

Quick Guide for Language Testing with LAS Links

Test Administrator Computer

  1. Add Test Session under All Applications -->Test Management
  2. Add student to DRC under All Applications -->Student Management
  3. Add student to test session under All Applications -->Test Management
  4. Print test tickets All Applications -->Test Management--> Manage Test Session

Student Testing Computer

  1. Sign into testing computer (Username: Testing, Password: Success!)
  2. Plug in headphones and check volume is appropriate
  3. Launch DRC (if not added use instructions on other side)
  4. Have the student log in using the information on the test ticket.
  5. Select test (Listening/Speaking/Reading/Writing)

After Testing

Go to ‘All Applications --->Educator Scoring’ to score the writing and speaking tests. (Tests may take up to 2 hours before being available to score)

Go to ‘Report Delivery’ to view the report and scores. (Tests may take up to 2 hours before results are available to view)

Tips

  • Each test has a mini tutorial. Having students complete the separate practice test is not necessary.
  • Consider starting with Writing and Speaking so they will be available to score first.
  • If the student attempts a section but does not have the ability to answer any questions, the section may be ended early.
    • Reading and Writing select ‘End Test’ and follow prompts.
    • Speaking and Listening select ‘Pause’ and follow prompts. You will have to sign in again to complete the other tests.
  • Tests ended early may have to be manually ended by you in the student tab/student info page (look for green fast forward button).
