  • Note: The state of New Jersey requires the NJGPA as a graduation requirement. Exams will be administered to 9, 10, and 11th grade students in language arts and mathematics.

Course Selection Process

  • Review Program of Studies (online)
    • On RHS Counseling Website
    • Read elective and course descriptions, including prerequisites and corequisites
  • Online Scheduling
    • Genesis will open for scheduling on February 5th via the parent portal. Students will have until February 13th to enter their requests for the 2026 -2027 school year. Try your best. What you request is not ‘set in stone’, we can still make changes at our meeting.
  • Meet with Counselorary, School Counselors will meet with junior students (in a small group setting) to review post secondary plans. More information will be forthcoming.
    • Meeting 1: Starting at the end of Janu
    • Meeting 2: We will see every student individually. Scheduling will be done via Calendly. We will see juniors starting on March 16th- March 31st for course selection. Complete the requests to the best of your ability. We will go over all your questions in our meeting.

Course Waiver Form

  • Students are permitted a maximum of two waivers per school year. Students may not submit course waivers in the same subject area in consecutive years.

  • Waivers will be completed via a google form. The course waiver form link will be available in the program of studies and on the counseling website.
  • The google form waiver needs to be completed and submitted by March 31st.
  • If you do not have the grade during the scheduling meeting, you must waive. After March 31st, waivers cannot be removed or modified.

  • Introduction to Cybersecurity I

Grade: 9-12 2.5 credits Semester

This course is designed for students who are interested in exploring careers in Cybersecurity. The focus of instruction will include the implementation and monitoring of security on network and computer systems. Students will investigate strategies to identify and protect against security threats such as hackers, eavesdropping and network attacks. The basics of cryptography and logic reasoning will be explored. Hands‐on labs in a cyber range provide practice in the configuration and mitigation of system vulnerabilities. Each unit integrates current events and related cyber ethics and law. *Ethics agreement must be signed by all students and parents during the first 2 weeks of class. .

The College of New Jersey

Dual Enrollment

Students enrolled in an Advanced Placement (any grade level) course will have the option to participate in dual enrollment at TCNJ.

  • Cost is $550.00 per course
  • Student will earn 4 college credits along with their high school credit
  • Students must earn a C or better for the year to receive college credit
  • Students will receive a TCNJ transcript
  • Taking the AP exam is not required for the TCNJ dual enrollment credit

  • Students looking to be approved to take a course over the summer will need to complete the Option 2 for Summer Course Advancement google form by June 2, 2026.

  • The option 2 google form will be available to students starting on February 5, 2026 - June 2, 2026. The option 2 for summer course advancement google form link will be available in the RHS Program of Studies and on the RHS Counseling website.

  • January 27: Career Prep Information Session
  • January 28: MCCC Dual Enrollment Information Session via Zoom
  • February 5 - February 13: Online course scheduling opens via genesis parent portal.
  • February 21: Applications due for Unified, Research Methodology, Dual Enrollment, etc
  • March 16th-31: Class of 2027 individual course selection meetings
  • March 31: Waiver Forms Due
  • March 31: Last day to make scheduling changes
  • June 2: Option 2 Forms, Independent Study applications due

  • Scheduling will be done online via the genesis parent portal.
  • You will not be able to select courses that are application/audition based. Once lists are finalized, counselors will update your course requests.
  • You will not be able to select courses that you are waiving, we will add manually
  • Health will be added manually for all students
