Why are we here?

EC 32288 specifies:

(a) In order to ensure compliance with this article, each school shall forward its comprehensive school safety plan to the school district or county office of education for approval.

(b) (1) Before adopting its comprehensive school safety plan, the school site council or school safety planning committee shall hold a public meeting at the school site in order to allow members of the public the opportunity to express an opinion about the school safety plan.

1 What is the CSSP mean and what purpose does the CSSP serve?

Comprehensive School Safety Plans are required under SB 719 & AB 115 and contains the following elements:

• Assessment of school crimes committed on school campus and school related functions

​

• Child abuse reporting procedures

​

• Suspension and expulsion policies

​

• Procedures for safe entrance and exit of the building

​

• Policies enacted to maintain a safe and orderly campus/environment

• Procedures to notify teachers of challenging pupils

​

• Title IX Discrimination and harassment policies

​

• School wide district approve dress code policies

​

• Hate Crime/Bullying reporting procedures

​

​

• Disaster/Crisis/Emergency Plan & Procedures
• Fire, Earthquake. Active Shooter, Shelter In Place, Disorderly Conduct, Student in distress, suicide idiation ect.
