Phase 1: Car inspection

  • The car should be built according to F1TENTH instructions.
  • We will:

Phase 2: Qualification – Part 1

  1. Same track as the race
  2. Each vehicle must demonstrate that it can drive autonomously through a track without crashing.
  3. The team must demonstrate that it is possible to trigger the dead man's switch remotely.

Phase 2: Qualification – Part 2

  1. Two heats, each 5 minutes
  2. Scoring:
    • Ranking for fastest lap time
    • Ranking for most consecutive laps without crashing
  3. The track is the same as in training and race
  4. Algorithm reconfiguration/tuning
    • Between the heats
    • During the heat, but the car must be stopped.
  5. Crash -> lap count resets

Phase 3: Head-to-head – Inspection

  • Car completed time trials
  • Car has a foam bumper
  • Car must be perceivable by LiDAR

Phase 3: Head-to-head – Race

  • Two cars on the track
  • Single elimination tournament seeded by qualification results
  • Finish N laps (will be announced after track setup)
  • Two start lines
    • Swap start line in every heat. BO3
  • Crashing
    • Track border ⇒ fix the track and start from the point of the crash ASAP without disturbing the other car
    • Opponent ⇒ race will be paused, cars reset, and restart on signal. Will be disqualified by happening > 3 times in a heat.
