The Legend of Doctor Strange
By @kmbmw777
Introduction
Fantasyland has been home to great retellings of childhood classics - from Snow White to Peter Pan. However, it has never been Host to a property based on an not a traditional Disney IP (you all know what I mean ;) ). Until now.
Doctor Strange is an IP geared more towards the male gender, yet it still fits with the Fantasyland ideas. Magic, Mysticism, and Legend. Also, conveniently, Doctor Strange has a base in the North Pole in the comics, so the exterior definitely fits the Alpine Village aesthetic of the current Disneyland Fantasyland.

Floor Two
Scene One: Crash
Our cars drives through winding roads on a mountainside. Heavy rock music plays as we ‘speed.’ The effect is similar to that of any dark ride chase scene (I believe there is one in Mr. Toad). Wind is sprayed onto our faces via fans. Pine scent can be smelled (similar to the effects in Soarin’).
Suddenly, we heard the iconic apple ‘ding’ signifying a text message has been received. Our car shoots off of the road and we are plummeting downwards in slow-motion.
When we reach the bottom of this hill, we hear ambulances, and see a wrecked car along with fire. We proceed to the next scene.
Scene Two: Death
In the first part of this scene we see Stephen Strange lying on an ER (though it is far less graphis) table with the sounds and sights of a hospital around us. The room is distinctly white.
In the second party of the scene we see Stephen Strange sitting in his large Me York apartment across from a table will a man in a brown shot. The man says that Stephen will never be able to use his hands, and Stephen gets very mad. The man then mentions that there may be a way.
The final scene shows Stephen talking to a man playing basketball. The man says “Head to Kamar Taj.”
Scene Three: Rebirth
We watch a lady in all yellow tell Stephen to ‘expand his mind.’ Suddenly, we are thrust into a room with purple stars and trippy illusions. Our car spins as we proceed through the room. When we exit the room, we are back with Stephen and the Ancient One (using the same audio-animatronics) where Stephen now says “I’m Ready.”

Scene Four: Train
We return and Doctor Strange is ready to begin his training. As we proceed in a circle around the room, to the left we see Doctor Strange and many other students training in the courtyard. They punch and cast magic in uniform.
To our left, we see four scenes as we pass through the room. First, we see Doctor Strange studying in the library. Next, we Doctor Strange putting on his Cloak of Levitation. Next, we see Stephen manipulating time with the Eye of Agamotto in the Library (on the apple). Finally, we see the death of the Ancient One. Though in this version she dies at Kamar Taj Obi-Wan style(with her body vanishing).
Scene Five: Threat
We drive down a street of Hong Kong, where bad guys destroy windows and Doctor Strange’s friends from the Sanctum are powerless to stop him. When we reach the end of the road, Doctor Strange stands front and center. He moves his hands and a green light shines - he is using the time stone! Our cart goes backwards and we see Doctor Strange’s men saving the city. Great audio animatronics and some screens make the reversal of time feel more lifelike. When we reach where we enter the scene, the vehicles spin around and we proceed down a different route. Up to the clouds where a purple being stands.
Scene Six: Savior
We reach the movies most iconic scene. Using technology similar to a conveyor belt, Doctor Strange animatronics get vaporized as they stand in front of Dormammu. “I’ve come to bargain.” In the in cart, audio from the movie play, and eventually Dormammu surrenders.
All around us the trippy purple, pink, and green blobs (for lack of a better word) are created using live, moving parts and screens.
Scene Seven: Hero
Doctor Strange stands in his sanctum, with the Eye around his neck and the cloak of levitation. He thanks guests for listening to his tale, and then says “I will be back.” All around the sanctum, mystical objects wiz around. For instance, there is a shelf that will constantly fall apart and re-fix itself and a cup that fills itself up and empties magically (in homage to Thor: Ragnarok).
