What is PALS?  PALS stands for Peer Assistance Leadership Service.

PALS is a school-based, peer-to-peer class for 8th grade students.

PALS program goals are to help build a positive school climate through youth leadership, mentoring, conflict resolution, peer helping, service, and prevention activities.

Student Aide classes are a year long course. This includes:

  • library aide
  • counseling aide
  • Clinic aide

Things to Keep in Mind about Electives

  • During middle school one full year of fine arts is required.

  • Select electives carefully. You will not be able to change them after they lock on 2/14.

  • No elective changes will be allowed after May 22, 2025.

  • Students are not guaranteed their 1st or 2nd choices. Please choose at least three alternate elective choices.

  • Students who do not meet the minimum requirements on the math and/or reading STAAR will be required to take a reading/math acceleration class in place of their elective.

Students will need to input all course selections into Skyward. You do not need to turn in course sheets to counselors.
