AFter VISITING Cal Poly SLo

I learned that in order to get a college I need to keep a high grade point average, know what you are majoring in, and to contact schools. You need to keep a high GPA so the schools are willing to work hard and keep on top of things. If you know what you are majoring in then it makes it easier to choose where you want to go. Finally, when you contact schools it lets them know that you are interested in them, and shows you care about what you are doing. - Brenna Acosta

AFTER UCLA and THE MUSEUM OF TOLERANCE

The most important thing I learned was not to judge people before I meet them. I didn’t even think about looking at colleges before visiting a few. I thought we had a while to think about college but I realize now this is the time to think about college. My goal is to get into UCLA for sports medicine because they have such a good medical program there. Seeing UCLA up close opened my eyes to college and I can see myself going there. -Spencer Hansen

Student testimony

Going to UCLA has opened my eyes even wider to the great future careers ahead of high school. Ever since I was little I wanted to see UCLA the home of the Bruins and now that I have gotten the chance I want to attend even more. I feel like this goal will become reality with the help of the Gate program. Having all this opportunities has shown me that hard work actually can take you far. Seeing campus life makes me happy knowing that I go to a great school and can further my education with the helpful leaders round me.
