Extended Transcripts & Student Performance Framework
2022-2023
By the end of the year, you will create…
… a piece of your extended transcript.
But wait. What is an extended transcript? And why should you care about it?
Extended Transcript
AKA “Portfolio”
At the end of high school, you will have a document (transcript) that lists all your classes from all four years along with all the grades you earned.
But you are more than your grades! You are also all the cool, creative, innovative projects you’ve engaged in.
These “badges” will be attached to your regular transcript through your extended transcript.
We’ll submit them with your grades when you apply to school or you can include them on your resume.
Admissions officers and employers will scan the QR code or click the link and see evidence of your learning and growth!
How will we make these badges?
Student Performance Framework
If you’re a freshman, you’ll make one badge each year.
We’re going to use SPF (XQ Learner Goals from the Student Performance Framework) to label the sub-skills each badge represents.
Creative Thinking is one of the sub-skills. There are also labels like Interpersonal Skills, Self-Directed Learning, Mathematical and Scientific Thinking, and Appreciating and Creating Art, just to name a few.*
We’ll learn more about these during the course of the quarter.
*Ask your adviser to see the colorful XQ Student Performance Framework deck if you are curious about all the different skills!
How and when will we make these badges?
Discussion/Questions
Ultimately, the extended transcript (through the student performance framework) is a real-world approach to standards, rethinking the learning experiences, and a way to build an enriched record of students’ growth and success.
The extended transcript will allow employers, colleges, volunteer programs, scholarship programs, and other interested members of the community an opportunity to see what you’ve actually accomplished.
