Analysis of the data shows this often-repeated mantra that vaccines were key in the decline of infectious disease deaths is a fallacy. Deaths had decreased by massive amounts before vaccinations. In the case of scarlet fever and other infectious diseases, deaths declined to near zero without any widespread vaccination.

Facts on Measles and MMR

1. Up until the creation of a vaccine, measles was considered a normal childhood illness and was not a big deal. (See old episodes of TV shows like the Brady Bunch and Donna Reed)
2. According to the CDC measles deaths decline 98% PRIOR to the vaccine being introduced in 1963 due to better living conditions –yet they try to credit the vaccine for the decline. (See Graph) This is true for most diseases.
3. Even at the height of measles cases when 34 million people would get it each year there was only a .015% death rate. (www.cdc.gov)
4. They claimed measles was eradicated in the U.S. in 2000 but there were 86 cases that year and have been dozens of cases most years. (www.cdc.gov)
5. They claim measles kills thousands of people each year, however, nearly all deaths occur in 3rd world countries where according to studies lack of clean drinking water and Vitamin A deficiencies play a major role.
6. According to the CDC there has not been a measles death in the U.S. since 2003
7. Lack of Herd Immunity due to people not vaccinating is NOT the reason for recent cases. Since nearly all adults no longer have immunity from their childhood measles shot and few have had a booster, more than half the population is not protected from the measles, making Herd Immunity a myth and yet still disease rates remain low.
8. MMR is a LIVE VIRUS and studies have shown that those recently vaccinated can shed the measles virus to others for up to 28 days. This has proved to be the cause of several recent outbreaks. (See Studies)
9. Unvaccinated children are not the reason for the recent increase in measles cases. Someone who does not have the measles and has never had the live virus injected into them cannot magically create measles and spread it to others.
10. Unlike the vaccine, naturally acquiring measles provides lifelong protection that is passed to a child through breast milk, protecting them for the first few years of life.
11. Studies have shown that contracting measles strengthens ones immune system and can provide protection against certain cancers later in life.

MMR VACCINE FACTS:

• As of 2012 there have been 856 injuries and 56 deaths as a result of the MMR vaccine. Keep in mind according to the CDC at most 10% of cases are reported. (www.VAERS.hhs.gov)

• Between 5%-10% of people who get MMR will develop the rash and fever, meaning there are at least 500,000 cases of vaccine induced measles. (www.cdc.gov)

​

• The MMR side effects are the same as the measles itself including blindness, encephalitis (brain swelling), pneumonia, seizures and death. (See Merck Vaccine Insert)

• The vaccine includes many questionable and dangerous ingredients including aborted fetal tissue, chicken embryos, calf serum, MSG and more. (See Merck Vaccine Insert)

• The MMR vaccine DOES NOT provide 100% protection. You can still get measles after being vaccinated against it. (www.cdc.gov)

​

• The MMR vaccine contains Human DNA from aborted fetal tissue. The use of aborted fetal tissue in vaccines goes against the religious and philosophical beliefs of millions of people.

MMR® II (MEASLES, MUMPS, and RUBELLA VIRUS VACCINE LIVE)

MMR ® II (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella Virus Vaccine Live) is a live virus vaccine for vaccination against measles (rubeola), mumps, and rubella (German measles). MMR II is a sterile lyophilized preparation of (1) ATTENUVAX® (Measles Virus Vaccine Live), a more attenuated line of measles virus, derived from Enders' attenuated Edmonston strain and propagated in chick embryo cell culture; (2) MUMPSVAX® (Mumps Virus Vaccine Live), the Jeryl LynnTM (B level) strain of mumps virus propagated in chick embryo cell culture; and (3) MERUVAX® II (Rubella Virus Vaccine Live), the Wistar RA 27/3 strain of live attenuated rubella virus propagated in WI38 human diploid lung fibroblasts.{1,2}

The healthcare provider should inform the patient, parent, or guardian of the benefits and risks associated with vaccination. For risks associated with vaccination see WARNINGS, PRECAUTIONS, and ADVERSE REACTIONS.

As for any vaccine, vaccination with MMRII may not result in protection in 100% of vaccinees.

ADVERSE REACTIONS

The following adverse reactions are listed in decreasing order of severity, without regard to causality, within each body system category and have been reported during clinical trials, with use of the marketed vaccine, or with use of monovalent or bivalent vaccine containing measles, mumps, or rubella:

Body as a Whole - Panniculitis; atypical measles; fever; syncope; headache; dizziness; malaise; irritability.

Cardiovascular System - Vasculitis.

Digestive System - Pancreatitis; diarrhea; vomiting; parotitis; nausea.

Endocrine System - Diabetes mellitus

Hemic and Lymphatic System - Thrombocytopenia (see WARNINGS, Thrombocytopenia); purpura; regional lymphadenopathy; leukocytosis.

Immune System - Anaphylaxis and anaphylactoid reactions have been reported as well as related phenomena such as angioneurotic edema (including peripheral or facial edema) and bronchial spasm in individuals with or without an allergic history.

Musculoskeletal System - Arthritis; arthralgia; myalgia. Encephalitis; encephalopathy; measles inclusion body encephalitis (MIBE) (see CONTRAINDICATIONS);subacute sclerosing panencephalitis (SSPE); GuillainBarré Syndrome (GBS); acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (ADEM); transverse myelitis; febrile convulsions; afebrile convulsions or seizures; ataxia; polyneuritis; polyneuropathy; ocular palsies; paresthesia.

Respiratory System - Pneumonia; pneumonitis (see CONTRAINDICATIONS); sore throat; cough; rhinitis.

Skin - StevensJohnson syndrome; erythema multiforme; urticaria; rash; measleslike rash; pruritis. Local reactions including burning/stinging at injection site; wheal and flare; redness (erythema); swelling; induration; tenderness; vesiculation at injection site.

Special Senses — Ear - Nerve deafness; otitis media.

Special Senses — Eye - Retinitis; optic neuritis; papillitis; retrobulbar neuritis; conjunctivitis.

Urogenital System - Epididymitis; orchitis.

Other - Death from various, and in some cases unknown, causes has been reported rarely following vaccination with measles, mumps, and rubella vaccines; however, a causal relationship has not been established in healthy individuals (see CONTRAINDICATIONS).

Pediatric Use - Safety and effectiveness of mumps and rubella vaccine in infants less than 12 months of age have not been established.

Immune Globulin - Administration of immune globulins concurrently with MMR II may interfere with the expected immune response.{33,34,47}
