As we move to our next location, we’ll look at and learn from the infrastructure of LEAF Festival: water filtration, first aid, waste management, mobility accommodations, and more. Facilitated by festival staff and the Majestic Collaborations team, and featuring Susan Beyer, proprietor of Dancin’ Dave’s Festival Camping, on camping as a practice for resilience

Overdose prevention & response training

Overdose prevention and awareness training, including how and when to administer CPR and naloxone, in partnership with the Ben Meyer Recovery Foundation. Led by Chris van Brenk, paramedic and EMT instructor.

Four Pillars Rotating Learning Stations

In small groups we’ll rotate through three learning stations (everyone will experience them all): Power to the People, Crucial Conversation Before Code Yellow, and Narcan Scenarios. See details & group assignments on reverse side.

  • Crucial Conversations Before Code Yellow: Weather planning, and real & perceived safety for diverse audiences. Featuring event producers Sean O’Connell, VP of AEG Presents and founder of Music Allies, and Micah Pulleyn of Catalyst Collaborations, in conversation with Jon Fillman, community events manager for the City of Asheville
  • Narcan Scenarios: Practice what you learned at this morning’s Overdose Prevention & Response training through interactive exercises

Art and Disability: A mini sound workshop exploring music and sound from the perspective of a performer who is blind. Led by musician Jordan Scheffer.

We’ll also introduce our overall approach to asset mapping so you can evaluate when and where this participatory process may be a useful tool in your own work. Facilitated by Jenny Filipetti of Majestic Collaborations.
