HOW TO CHECK ELIGIBILITY (always do this step first when quoting contractors)

  1. Click on Appetite Checker
  2. Enter the State
  3. Enter the Class Code ( you will find this in their current policy)
  4. Click on Search or Add Another if you already searched a class code
  5. Make sure to review what is the minimum annual payroll for a new venture or a existing business
  6. Make sure to confirm whether a new venture is eligible to be quoted under that class code.

HOW TO QUOTE: STEP 1 BUSINESS INFO

  1. Enter Policy Effective Date
  2. Enter Zip Code
  3. Enter Legal Business Name
  4. Enter the Entity Type
  5. Enter TAX ID number
  6. Enter the Target Premium. The target premium is the premium that we are aiming for. It is usually as close to the renewal price if it is an existing client or less than renewal premium of a new client
  7. Select whether the business has multiple location or not
  8. Click on Next

STEP 2: WORKFORCE DETAILS

  1. Answer whether the offices (owners) should be included in the policy (usually no)
  2. Enter class code
  3. Enter number of Full Time Employees for the class code
  4. Enter number of Part Time Employees for the class code
  5. Enter total estimated payroll amount
  6. Add more class codes if needed and repeat 2-5
  7. Click Next

STEP 3: INSURANCE HISTORY

  1. Enter Experience Mode. You should find this in the existing policy. If not, click on this link and go to slide 5,6 and follow the steps
  2. Answer whether the business never had or how many years they have had a wc policy. If it is a new venture you will have to answer the questions next to this box
  3. If they already have a wc you will need to answer whether they had any losses
  4. Click on Next

STEP 4: ELIGIBILITY

  1. In this section, you will be asked eligibility questions. Most of the time, you would select “none of the above apply”
  2. These questions vary according to the type of business you are quoting, but carefully read them and make sure you give accurate answers. DO NOT JUST ASSUME AN ANSWER ALWAYS DOUBLE CHECK WITH JOHN OR CLIENT.

STEP 5: CUSTOMIZE POLICY

  1. Enter liability limit. WE ALWAYS SELECT 1 MILLION, unless you are instructed otherwise.
  2. Enter target period or any other relevant information that will help the underwriter apply max credits to get a better premium.
  3. Click on Review Submission

STEP 6: REVIEW SUBMISSION

  1. Make sure you review everything and make any necessary changes. Ideally, you want John to go over the quote before you submit to avoid any mistakes
  2. Once you have the go ahead to submit, click on submit to pie

When you click on submit, you will get an estimated premium. REMEMBER IT IS NOT FINAL PREMIUM.

Sometimes, you might also get an auto approved quote which will let you get a quote and bind

Please keep in mind that John is the one that received the quotes and any questions regarding the quotes once we submit for approval so follow up with him too

FINAL STEP: BINDING PROCEDURE

Once you receive approval to bind you need to send an email to subs@pieinsurance.com

In the body of this email you need to include:

  • The name of the business
  • The Effective date of the quote
  • The Tax ID number
  • The Mailing and location address
  • The owner’s name and whether they will be included in the coverage of the policy. If there is multiple owner you need to also include percentage of ownership

In the attachments you will need to include:

  • Quote
  • Binder Checklist
  • Loss Runs

BILLING SET UP

Once the policy is binded, you and the client will get an email to set up the account for auto pay.

IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU REMEMBER THAT THIS CARRIER ONLY ACCEPTS AUTO PAY.

Also, once the email is received, the auto pay needs to be set up in 24 hours otherwise you will have to call for another email since it expires.

You can set up auto pay with a bank account (void check) or a credit card.
