Theme
My theme is that people have different layers to themselves, which is why you shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover. Getting to actually know and understand someone takes a lot of effort and time. If you want to grow and become wiser, you have to learn to respect other people. Judging a person doesn’t define who they are, it defines who you are. Before judging others you should put yourself in their shoes. Most people, even without meaning it, judge others just by their appearances.

Big Idea
You might judge someone simply by what they’re wearing or even the few words you hear them say. However, this is not the right thing to do because you really don’t know and understand that person’s struggles and problems. For example, Psychologist Tara Brach tells this story: Imagine you are walking through the woods and you see a small dog. It looks cute and friendly. You approach and move to pet the dog. Suddenly it snarls and tries to bite you. The dog no longer seems cute and you feel fear and possibly anger. Then, as the wind blows, the leaves on the ground are carried away and you see the dog has one of its legs caught in a trap. Now, you feel compassion for the dog. You know it became aggressive because it is in pain and is suffering.

3 coil design and meaning
The first coil design represents totalness, wholeness, perfection, infinity, eternity, and timelessness
8
The second coil design represents the layers to different people and how they distinguish one person from another
The third coil design represents the journey that people have through life as it unfolds
Objects related to the theme
I chose to do this object for my clay sculpture because I like pancakes and think they are fun and creative. I also feel like I could find meaning in my project and make something good out of this project.

What was good?
I was able to build my structure so that it didn’t have any air bubbles and so that no pieces of clay fell off. I also used three coil designs that are meaningful. I avoided air bubble by wedging my clay before using it. The objects i used were strawberries, blueberries and pastries.
How could i improve?
I can work on making the cap of my structure more sturdy and well fitted so that it fits on the bottom part perfectly.
What are the new things/feelings i discovered about myself through this project?
I discovered that i like making clay sculptures and being creative with it.
Have I tried my best effort to create a positive learning environment for everyone in this classroom?
Yes i think that i did try my best
How do I clean up for every art class?
I clean up all the tools, placemats, clay, sculptures, water, paint and paintbrushes left on the table. I push in the chairs and wipe and dry the tables.
