Participation

The aim of physical education is to ensure students can grow as physically literate individuals. Therefore all students are expected to take part in the physical education program to the best of their ability. If a student is unable to participate in certain physical activities, please ensure you send an email or a signed note outlining the parameters of this situation.

Gymnasium Routine

When you enter gymnasium:

  • Put your bags and all belongings in the room
  • Enter the gym and walk around the outside of the basketball court , counter clockwise
  • Sit in front of the when board when asked to do so
  • Wait for further instruction
  • If there is equipment around the gymnasium, leave it exactly where it is to save time so we can get class started faster.

Physical Literacy

Individuals who are physically literate move with competence and confidence in a wide variety of physical activities in multiple environments that benefit the healthy development of the whole person.

Being physically active in life depends on an individual’s ability to to feel confident in an activity setting.

This confidence comes from having learned fundamental movement and sport skills as a child.
