Recount text is a text that retells events or activities that occurred in the past that have been experienced before.

Recount text adalah sebuah teks yang menceritakan kembali peristiwa atau aktivitas yang terjadi di masa lampau yang pernah di alami sebelumnya.

GENERIC STRUCTURE

  • Orientation

The Orientation section is the introduction of the text to be discussed.

  • Event

The Event section is the core of the story. In this section we tell everything that happened in order from start to finish.

The end or the conclusion

LANGUAGE FEATURE

  • Have a title that summarizes the text. For example 'My Vacation to Bali' then the story will only tell the whole vacation while in Bali
  • Tells about events that have happened in the past. So the recount text always uses the past tense, for example 'Last month, I went to Bali with my family.
  • All events that are told must be in sequence. So, you have to use conjunctions like 'when', 'later', 'then', 'after', 'before', and others.

My Grandpas Hometown

Two weeks ago, I and my family were in my grandpa’s hometown. it is our annual agenda every holiday in the end of Semester. Unfortunately, it was rainy season there.

it rained almost every day there. We had no enough time to visit some tourism places there because of the rain. We had no enough sunlight even to dry up our laundries. As a result, we just stayed at home almost all day long. Seeing the condition, we decided to make an interesting activity indoor to spend the holiday together. The activity we chose that day was making funny videos directed by me. Finishing the videos, we edited them and made them uploaded in youtube.

By doing this, we could kill our boredom of staying at home because of the rain and made a creative activity instead.
