Program Information & Rankings

MSU’s Distinctive Teacher Preparation Program:

• All MSU teacher preparation students must complete a 1-year teaching internship after earning an undergraduate degree.
• Teaching interns earn 12 graduate level credits that can, with program approval, be applied toward several master’s degree programs offered by the College of Education.
• The Elementary and Secondary Education Programs have been ranked #1 nationally for 27 consecutive years.

Data Collection & Placement Information

In Summer 2021, an electronic version of the Destination Survey was sent to 279 teacher candidates who completed their initial teacher certification during the 2020-2021 academic year. By January 2022, 240 had responded resulting in an 86% knowledge rate and a 99% placement rate. All results of this survey are based on the responses to individual questions asked. Not all respondents answered every question.
