BUT HOW TO ACHIEVE IT?

EASILY: THROUGH THE ACTION PLAN

7 of 21

  • Leading change to increase engagement and impact: The environment changes, people change, and ways of working change

  • The worst reason to resist change is “This is how we’ve always done it,” the second worst is “We’ve never done it that way,” and the third worst is “You can’t do that according to Rotary rules.”

  • Small changes: an evening meeting once a month, wearing the pin on a sweater, or having cake for dessert instead of custard
  • Skills required to be an effective Club President

ROTARY IS A MEMBERSHIP ORGANIZATION!

OUR MEMBERS ARE ROTARY’S GREATEST ASSET!

  • It is our members who so generously give to our Foundation. It is our members who identify, design, and implement our service projects. It is our members who are bringing their diverse talents and life experiences to make our organization strong.
  • When we take care of our members and put them at the center of all we do, let’s call this ENGAGEMENT!

  • Everything starts with the member experience. The CLUB EXPERIENCE drives member satisfaction.Membership is not just about recruiting new members; it starts with what members experience in the club. When the experience is strong, members stay and new members come naturally.

  • Club experience is a joint work of all club members not just the president´s. Growing membership is a team sport. So, question is: what could you do to make the club experience better?”

  • USE THE TOOLS: Tools to assess club culture and improve engagement; Tools to understand what motivates and excites members; Communication strategies to increase member engagement; Plans to support and integrate new members

  • Evaluate community project needs

  • Measure and share impact

  • Use Rotary grants to expand impact

GLOBAL DIRECTION – LOCAL CHOICES

Rotary International sets the direction through the Action Plan.

Clubs create impact by making local strategic choices.

WRAP-UP

Rotary Action Plan gives us direction.

Strategy is about making choices. Impact comes from what we do differently tomorrow.

IN CONCLUSION:

When we observe the changes around us, in our society and in our club and we decide to adjust our approach to better meet the needs of our members, we ADAPT.

And when we take care of our members and place them at the center of everything we do, we call this ENGAGEMENT.

When our members feel supported and valued, they in turn take care of our communities INCREASING OUR IMPACT.

And through that impact, we inspire others to join us EXPANDING OUR REACH.

MEMBERSHIP, FOUNDATION AND PUBLIC IMAGE ARE ALL INTER-RELATED AND INTER-DEPENDENT.  AND THEY ALL ARE CRITICAL TO ACHIEVING OUR STRATEGIC PRIORITIES.
