INTRODUCTION
ShipShop is a proposed solution to this problem. Leveraging NB-Internet of Things technology and e-commerce, it provides a new way to protect both consumers and suppliers alike.
Every year, at one crossing of the US-Mexican border, 35-45 millions pounds of produce are thrown away due to not meeting standards

of global fresh produce is thrown away due to their quality degrading during shipment.
of revenue is lost due to the circumstances mentioned above in the US alone annually.

HOW IT WORKS
INPUT: Suppliers create a product page on their shipment and sync the device to it.
BIDDING: Consumers can bid on the product shipments and set their desired freshness thresholds. After winning, it is locked to them.
MONITORING: The order is monitored by the hardware. If it falls below the set threshold, the customer can back-out and re-open bidding.
DELIVERY: The latest user to hold the order receives it from the shipping company.

TRACKING
ShipShop prevents wastage for suppliers by giving them the opportunity to sell shipments that are at risk of spoilage at stopover ports.
ShipShop protects consumers by allowing them to back-out of their order if the device senses that it has fallen below a set freshness threshold.
ShipShop provides automated, real-time information tracking about the contents of a container to suppliers, couriers, and clients alike.
