Stamping
In this activity, you will explore stamping with different objects. You can use your stamps to make a transportation vehicle.
You will need:
Corrugated cardboard pieces
Cardboard tubes, spools, cork, and/or straw
Black or blue tempera paint on a plate or tray
2 pieces of paper

What is stamping?
How can we use different objects as stamps? �
Let’s look at the different objects that you have.
What do you notice about them?
What shapes do you think they will make?
Stamping Lines
Try holding a piece of cardboard with one hand and dip the thin side in the paint.
Then, press it down on the paper. What did it make? It made a straight line!

What happens if you keep going? ��You can make more lines!
Stamping Shapes
Try another stamp. Gently dip it in the paint, then press it on the paper.
What shape did it make?
Try out all the different stamps that you have.
Stamping to Make a Vehicle: Big Shapes
Take out your second paper. Do you want to use your stamps to make a vehicle, like a bus or train?
What shape will you make for the largest shape of the vehicle? What stamp will you use?
Stamping to Make a Vehicle: Small Shapes
Does your vehicle have wheels? What stamp will you use for these? Where will you add them? �
What else will you add with your stamps? (windows, doors, etc.)
