We want to get students into a permanent school with better facilities and a
better learning environment as soon as possible.
The lease on the temporary school location will increase significantly in 3 years and continue to increase moving forward, motivating us to move to a permanent location rather than spending taxpayer dollars on rent at a temporary location.
HIDOE would like to complete construction in 3-5 years.

KK III's students are spread across West Maui.
It would be preferrable to relocate the school to an area closer to where the majority of students and families live.
Some students and families have expressed that they would like the school to be relocated outside of the burn zone.
The ideal location would offer the potential for future expansion of the school.
