Welcome to Fisher!
Kindergarten is a fun and exciting year for your child! There is a lot to learn. It is our goal to make learning exciting and still have a lot of fun.
Arrival
Staff will be outside the Kindergarten Door at 8:20 to greet children. At 8:30 a.m. the doors are open and children are let into the building. At 8:40 the doors are closed and children must be in their classroom or are marked tardy.
Dismissal
School is dismissed at 3:30 pm. Please let us know on the first day of school how your child is going to get home. (i.e. bus, Kids Care, car line pick-up or walk pick-up). If for any reason there is a change in this routine, we MUST be notified in writing, Dojo message or a phone call MUST be made to the school office before 3:00 p.m.

Math Stations
Snack
Please send your child to school with a healthy snack, they should be able to open it and clean up after themselves.
Examples of foods that have been proven to be effective “brain food” include fruit, vegetables, and whole grain crackers.
The district wellness policy will not allow cookies, candy, or chips, as snack. Water bottles are encouraged. Sport caps work best.
Breakfast and Lunch
Breakfast is available for the students. Also, the children can choose to bring their lunch to school or get a school lunch. Please read the menu for the month and review the choices with your child for that day.
Students eat for 25 minutes
and have 20 minutes for
recess.
Quiet Time
Kindergarten is a year of growth and transition. Our day is full of academics and play.
There is a short quiet time allotted for the children. They will sit quietly and play with playdough, draw or read a book.

Markers
Learning Labs
Young children learn through play. We believe that incorporating play into weekly routines allows for the children to learn valuable social and emotional lessons about themselves and others.
We also use literature and discussion to encourage conflict resolution and
pro-social behavior.
Technology
In kindergarten, we begin learning the basics of the keyboard, how to log on and use games to practice academic skills.
Be Safe, Be Kind, Be a Leader
All Fisher Elementary students, staff, parents, and families are expected to be safe, kind and a leader. These expectations are posted in hallways, bathrooms, classrooms, and even in the gym. We teach the kindergarten students these expectations and practice them everyday. We encourage safe, kind and leadership behavior by rewarding those who are examples of positive behavior.
