  • Offers 3 services to students:
    • On-Demand One-to-One Tutoring
    • Document Review
    • Quizzes
  • Currently serve over 40 subjects, including Advanced Placement courses
  • Runs on HTML 5 and is compatible with IE, Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Mac’s, PC’s, IOS, and Android devices. Mobile version is called Tutor.Com To Go
  • Student wait time for a tutor is usually 70 seconds or less
  • Students have ability to select “favorite” tutors and request them for future sessions.

WHAT Tutor.com/appstate OFFERS

Tutoring

  • Tutoring sessions are through text and interactive white board where both student and tutor can manipulate the screen during the tutoring session.
  • Students greeted by name, then type in their question or submit a file and tutoring session begins.
  • All tutoring sessions are saved, so students can review them again, print them, share them with teachers or parents,

Document Review

  • Students can leave an essay for English tutors to review. They enter their grade level, topic, where they are in the writing process, format, and then upload the document. They will receive written feedback within 24 hours.

Quizzes

  • Pre-made quizzes are available in all subjects and allow students to test themselves and check their knowledge before a school test.
  • Students currently do not have functionality to save quiz results, but this feature may be available in the future.
