WordPress Campus Connect is an official global community program designed to help students and faculty learn about and succeed with WordPress.��Through program, event organizers and communities host events around the world to introduce mainly students to what WordPress can do through engaging, hands-on workshops, mentorship sessions and training.

WordPress Credits is a contribution-based program by the WordPress Foundation that brings students into the heart of the WordPress open source project. ��The program helps students develop transferable skills, gain practical experience, and join a global community of open source contributors.

WordPress Student Clubs is an initiative created to empower students to bring the open source spirit of WordPress to their campuses, building local communities that learn, share, and grow together.Student Clubs allow students to sustain on-campus WordPress activities year-round, creating space for ongoing learning.

They can be formed by campuses that are completely new to WordPress initiatives, as well as by those that have already hosted a WordPress Campus Connect event or participated in WordPress Credits.

A Typical Event Structure

Organizers have freedom in the format of the event, but a typical first-time event structure is as follows:

First session: Share about the fundamentals of WordPress as an Open Source CMS and its community

Build your first website

For example we have had events occur over one day, three events over a month, of 6 events over a month on different campuses. We have opted to leave the event format flexible for organizers so that they can design events that best fit the needs of their students, and the capacity of the organizers.

To give you an idea from some previous event structures, a typical one day event could start with a morning session, break for snacks and networking, an afternoon session, and then closing remarks.

As events mature, they often return to the same campuses offering more advanced lessons in WordPress. For example at WordPress Campus Connect Ajmer, which first ran last year showcasing beginner WordPress, they have returned to the campuses from last year to offer more intermediate learning content to students.
