AX10 Gears set

(You need almost all parts that you see on image.

Don't buy set with only gears!)

or

You can install one of the all-metal transmissions or buy only the gears and print a transmission housing for them. The parts are in the archive "Metal gears conversion kit" in the folder "Modified gearbox from H2". You can find the assembly instructions for this transmission in the assembly instructions for the Hummer H2.

Non 3d-printed parts

My transmission is a bad quality, a link so that you understand where you don't need to buy! But you can fix them installing 3d printed housing that I designed and upload to Thingiverse here and here.

!!! For this gearbox with 3d printed housings you need additional bearings:

  • MR105-2RS 5x10x4mm - 6pcs
  • 688ZZ 8x16x5mm - 2pcs

Center bearing bracket

If you have an old version of the frame and do not have the holes for this bracket, you need to position the bracket as shown in the photo and drill the holes with a 3mm drill. The bracket has a special design and you cannot position it incorrectly.

Then add bearings 5x10x4 and nuts M3 to the bracket. Then insert the 5x30mm shaft through the bearings.

Many manufacturers sell these gearboxes. Some of them may vary in size. Therefore, it is possible that this transmission subframe will not suit you, then write to me in the Facebook group or personal messages and I will make a subframe for you compatible with your gearbox.

58mm

There is very little space inside the model to install the transmission and motor, so make sure your transmission and motor do not exceed the dimensions below.

22mm

Drive shafts

The front drive shaft must be 68mm long. I did not find such drive shafts for 1/8 - 1/10 scale on sale, so I made it myself from 2 cardan joints and a 5x33mm metal shaft. Note that the differential input shaft is 6mm in diameter, so you need a universal joint with a 5-> 6mm transition. You can also drill the standard 5-> 5mm gimbal joint.

110mm

98mm

I used the rear drive shafts purchased, but you can make them in the same way as the front drive shaft. This will save you a lot of money. Note that on the rear differential, the input shaft is also 6mm in diameter, so if you are using a purchased drive shaft, you will have to drill one of its sides with a 6mm drill!

The metal gearbox is wider than the 3D printed gearbox, so after installing this gearbox in the frame, body installation became problematic. Therefore, I added with a soldering iron cutouts of about 8x40mm on both sides.

Also you need to print new exhaust main part.

They are different for 3d printed and metal gearboxes

exhaust for 3d printed gearbox

exhaust for metal transmission
