Dictionary

Highlight word to look up definition

  1. Try using the dictionary
  2. Open a website, double tap the word. Select ‘Look Up’
  3. Now try using the built-in dictionary on your iPad, From the Home Screen swipe down near the top of your screen and enter a word.

Safari Screen Reader

Safari’s Reader mode is a way for users to peruse a webpage without distractions from ads, videos, sponsored content links, and other web elements you may not consider essential to the article you are reading

  1. Open a news article
  2. Tap   at the left end of the address field, then tap Show Reader View.
  3. Use safari screen reader
  4. Try marking up the pdf

Split View

Students can view 2 screens at the same time

  1. Open Notes
  2. Swipe up from the bottom edge and pause to reveal the Dock.
  3. Touch and hold an app in the Dock, drag it to the far right or left edge of the screen, then lift your finger.

Floating Keyboard

Shrink and move the keyboard out the way.

    • Pinch to shrink the QuickType keyboard and move it wherever you want so there’s more room.
    • Use gray line to drag to desired location.
    • Reverse pinch to return to normal size.
