Crossing crevasses can be very dangerous so all team members must be trained in crevasse rescue techniques.
Snow can hide any deep crevasses across your path so explorers need to make sure they have all the right equipment and training before they set off on an expedition.

If all of the world’s ice melted the sea would rise an incredible 200 feet (61 metres)! Luckily that’s very, very unlikely because 90% of the world’s ice can be found in Antarctica where the average temperature of the ice is -37°.
